Biograhy
Dr. Carl Justin Kamp is an adjunct professor at the University of Hawaii in the college of engineering. He is the president and founder of Kymanetics Inc., a materials science research company which specializes in industrial research in the areas of automotive catalysis, polymers, and oxides/ceramics. Dr. Kamp is also a research scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the mechanical engineering department and at Columbia University in the physics department. His research currently utilizes specific instruments and labs at MIT, Harvard, Imperial College, the Natural History Museum in London, the University of Hawaii, and the University of Auckland. One area of special research interest for Dr. Kamp is increasing efficiency in internal combustion applications while reducing emissions, especially in the mitigation of carbon particulate matter. Dr. Kamp is a specialist in the design of in-situ experimental methods for the fundamental studies of catalysis and other general surface science areas, and has expert knowledge of instruments including FIB, SEM, EDX, TEM, STEM, XRD, XPS, RAMAN, X-ray CT, XRF, AFM, QCMD, SAXS/USAXS, high vacuum systems and chemical reactor systems.
