About

Founded in 2014, University of Hawaii Drone Technologies is a Vertically Integrated Project (VIP) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa aimed at exploring the applications of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for the purpose of package delivery, intelligence gathering, and search-and-rescue operations. UHDT builds upon the efforts of previous years and works on completing the mission set forth by the Autonomous Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) competition.

Mission Statement

The purpose of VIP UHDT is to create an Autonomous Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), Autonomous Air Delivery System, and Autonomous Image Processing System that successfully performs all expected obligations of the 2023 Autonomous Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Student Unmanned Aerial System (SUAS) competition.
