Markforged Metal X 3D Printer Has Arrived at UH Manoa

The UH and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility have entered into a 3-year Education Partnership Agreement to jointly utilize a state-of-the-art 3D metal printer for educational and research purposes. This new 3D metal printer will greatly expand our current collective 3D printing capabilities and design space. The Markforged Metal X 3D printer was purchased by Naval Sea Systems Command and will be initially located at UH for use by shipyard personnel and UH Faculty and students.

The 3D metal printer will be housed in the Engineering Machine Shop (Holmes 180) and be fully operational at the beginning of the Fall 2020 semester. Stay tuned for the grand opening.
