Central District Science Fair

Five Moanalua High School students with their research projects participated in the Central District Science Fair, held on Friday 2/8/2019, have advanced to the Hawaii State Science & Engineering Fair to be held in April, 2019:
   Lillian Shibata & Jayla Reyes-Kapuniai — The Application of LIDAR Technology on Planetary Rovers
   Luke Schwab — Calculating Hohmann Transfers and Understanding Orbital Maneuvers for Use with Small Satellites
   Kenton Wong & Jobert Teppang — Phytoplankton Research for Future Technology Advancements.
Special awards were also given to Olivia Kwon – Aircraft Noise Reduction Studies (Mathematics)
and Lillian Shibata & Jayla Reyes-Kapuniai (NASA).
These research studies have been conducted and guided as part of our NASA -funded HESTEMP  (Hawaii’s Engaged STEM Pathways) Project activities led by Dr. Dilmurat Azimov, the PI of the project.
