The new lecturers of Applied Thermal Engineering (ME417)

Samantha Nakamura and Charles Chaloeicheep are consulting engineers at WSP, a large engineering consulting firm with a local office in downtown Honolulu.  The co-lecturers have had a career that focuses on the detailed design work inherent in high performance building design.  They are excited to share their knowledge on low energy air conditioning systems and passive design strategies with the students of Applied Thermal Engineering (ME417).  Students will walk away from the course with a better understanding of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry and its impact on the environment, both globally and locally.  The course also prepares the students to land an engineering job by encouraging them to get their Engineer in Training License and become a LEED Accredited Professional.
